Kermanshah is a Kurdish city with ancient historical and natural attractions. At the top of them is the Bisotun inscription, a remarkable multilingual inscription carved on a limestone cliff. It is located along one of the main routes linking Persia with Mesopotamia, east of modern-day Kermanshah, and on Mount Bisotun. This historical work of at least 2000 years ago is one of the registered works of UNESCO as well as the Cultural Landscape of Hawraman/Uramanat; Hawraman/Uramanat is at the heart of the Zagros Mountains in the provinces of Kurdistan and Kermanshah along the western border of Iran.
